DWG FastView Adds 14 More 3D Formats Plus SolidWorks & CATIA Drawing Support

We have been continuously expanding the range of 3D file formats supported in DWG FastView. From our early support for SolidWorks SLDPRT and SLDASM files, to the major 3D engine upgrade with RVT 2025 support, to adding Rhino 3DM viewing و much more 3D formats on iOS — our goal has always been the same: let you open any 3D file, anywhere, on any device.

Today, we are thrilled to announce 14 additional 3D model formats و 2 new 2D engineering drawing formats from SolidWorks and CATIA are now fully supported!

14 Newly Supported 3D Formats

Starting from v5.18.0, DWG FastView Mobile now opens the following 3D model formats:

* .CATShape files support upload only and cannot be independently converted. They serve as dependency files for CATIA assemblies, similar to how .bin files are referenced by .glTF models.

NEW: SolidWorks & CATIA 2D Drawing Support

Starting from v5.18.6, DWG FastView now supports 2D engineering drawing formats generated by two of the world's most widely used 3D CAD platforms:

  • .slddrw — SolidWorks Drawing (2013–2024)
  • .CATDrawing — CATIA Drawing (V5 R8 to V5-6 R2024, or exported from 3DExperience up to V6 R2024x)

If you already use DWG FastView to view SolidWorks 3D part and assembly files, you can now open the associated 2D detail drawings as well — all within the same app, completely free.
